A man has been caught damaging items in Coopers Square shopping centre, Southern Derbyshire Magistrates Court heard.

Criminal damage and assault

A man has admitted criminal damage. Jason Redfern, 34, of no fixed address, admitted destroying a metal panel belonging to Coopers Square shopping centre, in Burton, on July 28. He also admitted assaulting a PCSO in Burton on the same day. He also admitted using threatening or abusive words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress at Coopers Square on August 18. He has been fined £120 and ordered to pay £50 compensation, £85 court costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

Drink driving

A man has admitted drink driving. Daniel Mitchell, 20, of Trent Avenue, Willington, admitted driving a Vauxhall Astra in Repton Road, Willington, on July 16, with 48 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes. He also admitted driving without insurance and otherwise than in accordance with a licence. He has been fined a total of £574 and ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £30 victim surcharge. He was banned from driving for 12 months.

Damaging a window

A man has admitted criminal damage. Mark Paterson, 42, of Plummer Road, Newhall, admitted damaging a window belonging to Trident Housing Association in Newhall on August 23. He also admitted assaulting a police office in the execution of his duty on the same day. He also admitted possession of cannabis. He has been made the subject of a 12 month community order. He was ordered to pay £100 compensation and £85 court costs.

Drunk and disorderly

A man has admitted being drunk and disorderly. John Kedzierski, 62, of James Court, Burton, admitted being drunk and disorderly in a public place, namely Wellington Street, Burton, on August 4. He also admitted failing to attend court on August 21. He has been fined £80 and was ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

Assaulting a man

A woman has admitted assaulting a man. Karen Richardson, 44, of Amberwood, Newhall, admitted assaulting a man in Newhall on August 4. She has been made the subject of a three month conditional discharge. She was ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
