Masked men who terrified staff after raiding a business in Burton are still at large four months after the incident, while, seperately, two robbers who broke into a Swadlincote bank in an unrelated incident are also on the run.

Two men who burst into Carphone Warehouse, in Middleway Park, Burton, in April, have still not been traced, while two robbers caught on camera stealing cash from HSBC in Swadlincote, in December, last year, also still remain at large.

The Burton Mail is now re-appealing for witnesses following both raids.

While Derbyshire Police have released CCTV footage of the robbery at HSBC, in High Street, on December 12, last year, and a £25,000 reward made leading to any arrests, no footage of the raid at Carphone Warehouse has yet been released by Staffordshire Police.

HSBC was closed at the time but staff were inside. Two men forced their way into the locked branch by breaking the window with a sledgehammer and a concrete block.

A large amount of money was stolen along with cash cartridges before the men escaped along with a third robber who was waiting outside on the street.

The men ran from the bank towards Morrisons and drove away in a dark-coloured Audi A3 car. Police did manage to find and seize a different car, a white Volkswagen Polo that was also used by the men.

The CCTV shows one of the robbers struggling to get inside the bank, before getting in and running inside, passing cashing up machines and out of shot of the camera.

The second robber is then seen entering, following the same route before carrying out what looks like money registers out of the building while his colleague fumbles with another on the floor behind him.

The two men then escaped in a car with the phones. A third man was waiting in a blue Renault, with the registration HV51 FAM, this was later found abandoned in Burton.

The men fled the store in the Renault which was then abandoned in Horninglow Road, in the town, where some of the stolen phones were subsequently recovered.

Detectives say the gang then fled on foot along Dallow Street into Victoria Street and were collected in a vehicle, a blue Astra, of which part of the registration was VE54.
