The roads this week have been a nightmare but we have compiled a list of ones to watch out for and how to get round delays on the A38, A444 and A511.

Bretby Road, Newhall: two-way traffic lights as Cadent carry out essential gas maintenance to replace old iron gas mains with more durable plastic pipes. Until July 7.

Main Street, Hartshorne: stop and go boards as Derbyshire County Council carries out surface dressing. Until July 17.

Repton Road, Hartshorne: two-way traffic lights as Severn Trent Water renew water pipes. Until June 30.

A38 Barton to Branston sliproad southbound: Road closure due to grass cutting. Until 6am, on June 29.

Burton Road, Repton: Two-way traffic lights as Virgin lay new ducting for customer connections. Until July 3.

Diversion routes if you are using the A444 at Overseal:

From Overseal to Swadlincote. Turn right into Woodville Road, left onto Reservoir Hill to Tollgate Island at Woodville, and take the A511 exit. And vice versa.

Diversion routes if you are using the A511 at Midway:

From Midway to Burton. Turn back down to Tollgate island at Woodville and take last exit onto A514 towards Swadlincote. At the Sainsbury’s roundabout take the last exit onto Darklands Road before going straight on at the crossroads onto Westfield Road, and then turn left at the end of the road on to Springfield Road, before taking the last left turning onto the A511. And vice versa.

Diversion routes if you are using Derby Road, Burton:

From A38 Claymills junction. Head straight onto the Branston Interchange exit. Take the last exit into Burton on the A5121. Head straight on at the next three roundabouts. And vice versa.
