Piano teacher Joanne Raffle was very proud of one of her student's achievements. Freya Louise Crofts, aged 15, from Brizlincote Valley, came second in her category (aged 15 and under) in the 2017 EPTA (European Piano Teachers Association) UK competition for composers.

We asked caught up with Joanne a little more about herself.

What's your favourite takeaway?

Caribbean – I had some lovely Caribbean takeaways in Leeds – I love Guinness punch!

Tell us one thing no-one knows about you?

Erm… I have a vestigial tail! Only joking, I don’t think I have any secrets!

What’s your ultimate ambition in life?

To have a long happy life

What’s your favourite song?

No Limit by 2 Unlimited (I don’t really have a favourite – I like lots of different genres of music)

Marmite? Love it or hate it?

Hate is a strong word, but last time I tried it I didn’t like it. Apparently I loved it as a baby. Maybe I need to try it again….

What’s your worst habit?

Handing my husband my rubbish to throw away

What was your first car?

Nissan Micra – I had it from 2005 and only got rid of it this year. I cried when I took it to the scrapyard!

If you could make a law, what would it be?

To have a maximum working day of six hours (but no less pay!)

If you could go anywhere in the world where would it be?

There’s a few places I’d like to go… Quebec is on the list.

Who would you invite to a dinner party - dead or alive?

Richard O’Brien, Banksy, Reeves and Mortimer, Gordon Ramsay might be entertaining...
