Drivers are being urged to avoid an East Staffordshire road due to a “police incident”.

The A515 northbound in Kings Bromley is partially blocked between the A513 Rugeley Road and the A513 Alrewas Road and Manor Road due to the incident this morning, Wednesday, August 2, according to traffic and travel website Inrix.

The incident was outside the Co-op and The Royal Oak with traffic using the southbound carriageway to bypass the scene. Police have advised that motorists should avoid the area if possible, especially during rush hour but traffic is currently coping well. We have no more information available at this time.

There are also delays this morning on the A5121 Wellington Road in Burton between the A5189 and B5017 Shobnall Road.

Commuters heading on the train with London Midland this morning are also warned of possible delays due to the late finish of engineering work.

There is currently a supplementary bus service running between Sutton Coldfield and Lichfield Trent Valley and there are delays of up to 20 minutes with some cancellations between Aston and the Lichfield station.

Tickets are being accepted on buses, CrossCountry and Virgin Train services.
