A 73-year-old cyclist from Rolleston has died after being involved in a crash with a lorry. Police were called to Ferbnhook Avenue, in Alvaston, Derby at 4.10pm on Wednesday, September 20, to reports of a collision.

When officers arrived, it was clear that the cyclist had suffered fatal injuries, said a police spokesman. Derbyshire Constabulary has now named the man as John Scott, from Rolleston on Dove.

Officers are investigating the incident, and are appealing to for members of the public to get in touch if they were in the area at the time of the collision and saw anything.

Sergeant Darren Muggleton, from the collision investigation unit, said: "We would like to appeal to anyone who was in the area around the time of the collision and has dash-cam footage to contact us."
