Second World War medals have been stolen from a South Derbyshire home. Derbyshire Police are investigating two burglaries in Willington which they believe could be linked and are asking witnesses to come forward with information.

Raiders broke into a house in Fern Avenue and jewellery was stolen some time between 12.30am and 9am on Friday, June 9.

Police are linking it to a burglary at a house in Oaks Road, which happened some time between 9am on Thursday, May 25 and 10am, on Friday, June 9.

Information has only just been released about both incidents by police.

A collection of Second World War medals, jewellery, a silver candlestick, a brass table and a brass lamp stand were stolen.
