It's the topic which everyone in Burton and South Derbyshire is talking about - the three-month closure of St Peter's Bridge.

On Tuesday, August 29, two became one as the number of routes across the River Trent in Burton were halved and the only way of crossing the water in the town is via Burton Bridge.

People have been late for work, children have arrived late to school. In fact, one boy from Newhall ended up in Burton town centre instead of Stapenhill because of a detour the bus taking him to school had to make.

Workmen are now into the second week of a 12 week project, refurbishing St Peter's Bridge

There has been talk of people setting up petitions, with commuters demanding to know why work isn't taking place on St Peter's Bridge 24/7.

However, although it is the main topic of conversation in the town at the moment, not many people are aware of how the work is coming on.

Here is the latest video taken today, Wednesday, September 6 - and wow, doesn't it look different to the bridge we have known for the last 30 years.
