An 18-year-old who admitted driving a vehicle he did not own dangerously along 13 streets across Swadlincote is due to appear at the crown court.

Tommy Byrne appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court where he admitted a string of driving offences.
He pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence in Wood Lane, Newhall, on May 2. He also admitted driving without insurance.

Byrne also admitted taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent and then driving it dangerously in William Nadin Way, Darklands Road, Nelson Street, North Street, Midland Road, Newhall Road, Midway Road, Burton Road, Wood Lane, Edgecote Drive, Hay Wain Way, Harvest Hill and Chestnut Avenue.

Byrne, of Main Street, Clifton Campville, Tamworth, is now due to be sentenced at Derby Crown Court on Tuesday July 4. He answers unconditional bail until then.
