Burton-based roofing company Russell Roof Tiles has been named as one of the first in the country to reach new industry standards.

The company, which has factories on Nicolson Way and Wetmore Lane, has upgraded to the new ISO 9001 and 14001 systems. The systems are international standards that specifies requirements for companies to follow. The International Organisation for Standardization (ISO) is an agency composed of the national standards bodies of 165 countries.

Daniel Hancox, assistant operations support manager, said: “We’ve worked hard on updating our existing ISO standards to help stream-line our processes and procedures. Our achievement demonstrates that as a business we continue to make quality a priority. This is reflected in our staff who take time to focus on how they can improve services for our customers.”

Russell Roof Tiles has three plants in Burton and Lockerbie, making a range of concrete roof tiles and fittings for various projects.
