A Burton-based tiling company is celebrating a combined 70 years of service by three of its employees.

Russell Roof Tiles has presented David Lancaster, Caroline Westwood and Paul Erskine with long service awards for their individual hard work and dedication to the company.

The award is designed to recognise the loyalty of employees who have stayed within the company’s structure for more than 10 years.

David Lancaster, the business development manager for the northern region of the firm, has held this role for 30 years and had his award accepted by his wife Rachael on the evening.

Stretton’s Caroline Westwood has been at Russell Roof Tiles for 20 years as a customer service adviser and was given the ‘Employee of the Quarter’ award this year after being nominated by her fellow colleagues.

Mrs Westwood has said: “Over the past 20 years lots of things have changed here at Russell Roof Tiles but it’s still a great place to work.”

Burton born and bred, Paul Erksin is currently the firm's works manager and has been part of the company for 20 years.

All three work at Russell Roof Tiles’ sites, situated in Nicolson Way and Wetmore Lane, in Burton, were presented with their awards by managing director, Andrew Hayward, who expressed his delight at being able to give these awards to dedicated staff members.

Mr Hayward said: “It’s great to be able to recognise Long Service Awards to the team. We launched the awards as we wanted to commend the loyalty and dedication of those who have stayed with our company for such a long time.
