A Burton-based travel company has forged a new partnership with Britain’s third largest tour operator, Jet2Holidays.

Solmar Villas which is based at Centrum 100 in the town, has signed a deal with Jet2Holidays to create a new Jet2Villas brand.

Under the new trading agreement, Solmar’s exclusive range of hand-picked villas including properties in Spain, the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus, Turkey and Croatia, will be marketed through the new brand.

The deal marks the first time that package holiday specialist Jet2Holidays has offered a dedicated villa rental proposition.

Julie Blake from Burton’s Solmar Villas said: ““We are delighted to have secured this exciting new distribution channel for our portfolio as there are natural synergies between our villa locations and the destinations served by Jet2holidays.

“We have more than 20 years’ experience in this marketplace and with all of our villas being hand-picked based on very strict criteria covering facilities, design and proximity to resort amenities, Jet2 was able to proceed with confidence.

“We will be looking to further grow our portfolio of properties by adding new destinations over the coming months.”

Steve Lee, commercial director of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “The launch of Jet2Villas is a very exciting new chapter for us and by partnering with an established operator such as Solmar Villas we are confident that our customers will enjoy a fantastic experience alongside all the perks of a Jet2holidays package.

“Based on the positive response we have had from customers since launch we are very much looking forward to a successful partnership with Solmar Villas.”

Over the past two years, Solmar has seen a marked increase in demand with sales up by more than 32 per cent.
