A bank which is closing branches across the country will remain in Swadlincote, Burton and Uttoxeter. Barclays has announced plans to shut a further 54 branches this year - a move which will bring its total number of closures in 2017 to 67 across the UK.
However, branches in High Street, Burton; Midland Road, Swadlincote, and High Street, Uttoxeter, have been saved from the chop.
In a statement, the bank said along with a number of high street lenders, the closures are linked to the growing demand for digital services - such as the increasing shift towards immediate online and app banking facilities.
A Barclays spokesman confirmed the closures would occur over the next four months, but added the cuts would not result in any job losses.
The statement said: "The number of physical Barclays branches will reduce overall but our branch network and the colleagues who work in them remain a vital part of our offering.
"We will continue to evolve the shape and size of our branch network, as well as improving and investing in the experience in-branch. We also provide our customers with a range of digital channels."
According to consumer platform Which?, more than 1,000 high street bank branches have been axed in the period from January 2015 to January 2017 - with HSBC closing the largest number.
Did you know...?
The closures of banks across the country can cause problems for many people, especially those who do not have access to online services.
However, those concerned about their ongoing access to in-branch support will still have somewhere to go. A new government initiative means they can now manage all their finances from the Post Office - regardless of where they bank.
The Post Office said that 93 per cent of people in the UK live within a mile of their local post office - 99.7 per cent within three miles - and the service means they can manage all of their money, including cash, card and cheque transactions with a face-to-face cashier.
Customers will also be able to bank on a Sunday - with 4,000 of the 11,600 Post Office branches in the UK to remain open seven days a week by December.
The banks included in the scheme are: HSBC, First Direct, Lloyds Bank, Halifax, Santander, Smile, Royal Bank of Scotland, Bank of Scotland, NatWest, Bank of Ireland, Nationwide, YSB, Barclays, Danske Bank, Ulster Bank, Allied Irish Bank, Virgin Money, Co-op Bank, Metrobank, Handelsbanken, Clydesdale Bank, APS, ThinkMoney, First Trust Bank, Yorkshire Bank and CAF.
