Woman and baby taken to hospital after head-on crash involving lorry and Audi in Etwall

A woman is in a serious condition following a head-on crash in Etwall which saw a seven-month-old baby boy also taken to hospital.

The 31-year-old woman was driving an Audi involved in a collision with a lorry at around 2.10pm on Thursday November 2 in Etwall Road, close to the Seven Wells pub.

Burton Mail crowned Newspaper of the Year at prestigious Midlands Media Awards

The Burton Mail beat stiff competition from seven other daily and weekly newspapers to be crowned Newspaper of the Year at this year’s Midlands Media Awards.

The prestigious accolade, was awarded to editor Emma Turton and her team at a sparkling ceremony at The Cube in Birmingham’s Mailbox District, on Thursday evening, capturing the title from fellow-Staffordshire newspaper the Tamworth Herald, which had won the accolade for the last two years.

Collision between car and lorry in busy Burton road this morning

A collision between a car and a lorry caused traffic issues in Burton earlier this morning, Friday, November 3. There were no serious injuries reported and the drivers exchanged details.

Staffordshire Police were called at 9.50am to the incident on the A511 near to Wetmore Road, on the one-way system near to Halfords and opposite the Three Queen’s Hotel.

Reports of ram raid in Ashby Aldi

Reports have surfaced on social media about a suspected ram-raid which took place in Ashby overnight.

A video has been shared on Facebook which is believed to have been filmed at the Aldi store in the town in the early hours of this morning.
