A 47-year-old man has been charged with allegedly making hundreds of indecent images of a child. Stephen Lomas, of Brook Lane, Foston, appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court were he is yet to enter pleas to the charges.

He is charged with allegedly making three category B indecent photographs of a child and one category C image, in Foston on a black computer tower on or before August 3.

He is also charged with making 41 category A, the worst, indecent images of children, 43 category B images and 378 category C images on another device on or before August.

Lomas is also charged with possession of 196 extreme pornographic images consisting 183 pictures and 13 movie clips which portrayed, in an explicit and realistic way, a person performing an act of intercourse with a live or dead animal and which was offensive, disgusting or otherwise of an obscene character.

He is due to attend Derby Crown Court on November 16 and answers conditional bail not to contact directly or indirectly anyone under the age of 18 and to live and sleep at his address.
