A 29-year-old man from Burton has been arrested in connection with an alleged armed robbery at a South Derbyshire convenience store.

Staff at The Co-operative store, in Main Street, Rosliston, have told how a man walked into the store in the middle of the afternoon, demanding money while holding a large knife.

The incident is said to have taken place at 12.25pm on Saturday, August 19.

It is alleged he made threats to staff and then left with a quantity of cash. Police were unable to confirm how much money was stolen.

The staff members were not injured during the incident, said a Derbyshire police spokesman at the time.

Staffordshire Police is now investigating the case as one of a series of similar cases in East Staffordshire. The 29-year-old is now being questioned by police.
