A man from Midway is due to appear in court after officers found what are suspected to be to be cannabis plants at an address.

Officers from the Swadlincote Safer Neighbourhood Team carried out a search on Tuesday, June 27, at a house in Midway and found 14 suspected plants.

A 42-year-old man has been interviewed and is now due to appear at court accused of drug cultivation, said a police spokesman.

Sergeant Graham Summers, who is in charge of the team said: “The search was carried out as a result of community intelligence. It shows that we will act and take positive action when we receive such information.”
