A police officer called has been found guilty of drink-driving. PC Thomas Doubtfire, based at Wombourne Police Station, attended Birmingham Magistrates' Court on August 17 charged with driving a vehicle while over the prescribed limit.
He was disqualified from the roads for 16 months and ordered to pay a fine and charges totalling £1,215.
Chief Constable Gareth Morgan, said: "I am extremely disappointed in PC Doubtfire's conduct. As a police officer he understands the absolute priority we place on road safety and the example we should set for our communities. No-one is above the law and I therefore welcome this sentencing."
PC Doubtfire is currently suspended from duty and misconduct proceedings will now begin.
