More than 100 classes of horticulture, crafts, and flower arranging will be the highlight of the day at this year’s Rolleston Gala.

Rolleston is again hosting its annual gala day on The Croft, St Mary’s Church and Rolleston Club, offering a great chance for locals to support the community and take part in classes, said a spokesman.

The show boasts 107 classes for horticulture, crafts, flower arranging and many other activities for the whole family to enjoy. In addition, there will be demonstrations of crafts in St Mary’s Church and many stalls and children’s activities on The Croft.

The show starts at noon on Bank Holiday Monday, August 28, with an official opening at 1pm by Andy and Patsy Starbuck, who have contributed greatly to village life for many years until their recent retirement.

Admission to the gala is free. On the day there will be a grand raffle with many prize donations from local companies. Refreshments are also available throughout the day.

The prize presentation will start at 7pm in the main hall of Rolleston Club followed by the auction of produce from the day. The evening will end with the drawing of the raffle.

Gala day entries can be registered from 7pm to 10pm on Monday, August 21, and on the morning of the gala from 7.30am until 9.30am in the lounge of Rolleston Club.
