A woman has been taken to hospital following an accident on a road in Repton this morning, Monday, August 14.

Emergency vehicles attended the scene, on Willington Road, in the village, where a car left the road and ended up in a hedge.

Derbyshire Police have confirmed that just one vehicle was involved, and the female driver had been taken to hospital, after the incident at around 6.30am this morning.

The car involved was a Peugeot 206 and the woman's condition is not yet known.

Police are still on the scene recovering the vehicle and the canal bridge, B5008 is closed between Willington and Repton.

The A5132 for the Green and Bargate Lane is closed, and traffic monitoring website, Inrix has confirmed that traffic is coping well on alternative route near Saint Michael’s Church.
