Officers searching for a missing Derbyshire man, who has not been seen since October 14, have found a body.

The body, which has yet to be formally identified, was found on Thursday afternoon in the River Trent between Weston-on-Trent and Castle Donington.

Johnathan Webster, of Chellaston, in Derby, was reported missing to Derbyshire police on Saturday, October 14.

A spokesman for Derbyshire police said: "The body is thought to be Mr Webster, although a formal identification is yet to take place."

On Monday, October 16, police said they had found the belongings of the 50-year-old in Kings Newton, near Melbourne. He was last seen when he left his home address on a bicycle.

Mr Webster was described by police during their search as white, 6ft 1ins tall with mousey-brown, receding hair. He was wearing dark brown trousers, a jumper and a dark blue quilted jacket.

Officers released appeals in the press and on social media to try and find him.
