Last season Leicester City won the hearts of thousands as the club was crowned champions of the Premier League 2016-2017. One of the stars of "The Foxes" was Jamie Vardy, who joined the team ahead of the 2012-13 season from Conference Premier club Fleetwood Town.

Now, the home where Vardy and his family spent the past two years has gone on the market for £1.25 million. The property, in Melton, Leicestershire, has eight bedrooms and the 1960s property was completely refurbished by the couple.

Describing what he liked best about the Cloughmore House, Jamie said that he thought it really was a special all-round house.

He said: "It's versatile, all the rooms are a great size and it's a perfect family home. It's local to Melton and it would only take us 15 minutes to walk into the town centre, which we did many times.

"We made some amazing memories during our time living there. The outside area is also a great selling point - perfect for entertaining."

His wife Rebekah said: "Sofia learned to walk there and it was Finley's first home. It's a big part of history for us but it's the right time to move to a home with more space for our family and where we can enjoy a sense of privacy."

The couple moved away from Melton because of other-enthusiastic fans calling at the house. Parties at Cloughmore House included the Leicester City squad's celebration when they won the Premier League.

It was Tottenham Hotspur's failure to win a match against Chelsea a year ago that sealed the Foxes' place at the top of the league and several of the Leicester City squad were watching that match with Jamie at Cloughmore House.

Arranged over three floors, the stone property has several improvements made by Jamie and Becky, including a billiards games room, a new staircase and a dressing room.

The ground floor has a bar/family room, sitting room, dining room, reception hall, kitchen, garden room and billiards room. The first floor has seven bedrooms, a bathroom and two en suite bathrooms.

The master suite takes up the entire second floor and includes a 23-foot bedroom, dressing room, walk-in wardrobe and en suite bathroom. The 0.7-acre site has front and rear gardens, a kitchen garden and greenhouse and a thatched garage.

James Abbott, head of Savills Stamford, which is selling the property, said: "Cloughmore House is a very well-appointed and impressive family home which has been completely refurbished by its current owners.

"This home would be particularly well suited to a professional family who value indoor and outdoor space within a town setting. The Vardy family have undoubtedly made many happy memories in this home and it is their hope that the buyer will go on to get the same amount of enjoyment from it."
