A man who admitted stealing Lynx body spray, coffee and alcohol is the latest criminal to appear at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court.

Shoplift

A man has admitted shoplifting. Jordan Burgess, 37, of Midland Road, Swadlincote, admitted stealing six cans of Lynx body spray worth £18 belonging to Asda, at Woodville Service Station, on June 3. He also admitted stealing coffee and alcohol worth £15 from Tesco Express, in Common Road, Church Gresley, on June 14. He also admitted breaching a suspended sentence order. He has been jailed for a total of nine weeks due to his breach and was ordered to pay a total of £33 compensation.

Assault

A man has admitted assault. Henry Parkhurst, 19, of Metcalfe Close, Burton, admitted assaulting a woman in Burton on April 28. He also admitted assaulting another woman in Burton on May 24. He has been made the subject of an 18-month conditional discharge, and was ordered to pay £50 compensation and £85 court costs.

Breach

A man has admitted breaching a restraining order. Richard Wilkins, 37, of Ensor Close, Swadlincote, indicated a plea of guilty to breaching a restraining order by emailing a woman in Swadlincote on June 9, and sending her three emails on June 17. He has been given a 30-week prison sentence which was suspended for 13 months because it was a persistent breach of the order committed and within days of the order being made. He was also ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £115 victim surcharge.

Theft

A man has admitted shoplifting. Daniel Jones, 25, of High Street, Newhall, admitted stealing Soap and Glory products worth £120, from Boots, Swadlincote, on December 6. He also admitted stealing a box of perfume and two shower gels worth £48 from Boots, Swadlincote, on November 29. He has been fined £40 and ordered to pay £168 compensation, £85 court costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

Speed

A man has admitted speeding. Thomas Adams, 29, of Burton Road, Midway, admitted driving an Audi at 38mph in a 30mph zone on the A511 Burton Road, Midway, on September 17. He has been fined £166 and ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £30 victim surcharge. His licence was endorsed with three points but there was no totting disqualification imposed due to the impact this would have on his partner.
