Burton Albion's out-on-loan players have been busy over the weekend, with Marcus Dinanga scoring for AFC Telford United and Ryan Delaney earning a call-up to his national side's under-21 setup.

Dinanga notched a consolation for his side with a fine glancing header as the Bucks lost 4-1 to Bradford Park Avenue, with the on-loan Brewers second-half effort coming with his side already 3-0 down at half-time.

Marcus Harness was also in action over the weekend, failing to help his side arrest a three-game losing streak in a 1-0 loss to Crew Alexandra that saw veteran midfielder Michael Tonge - formerly of Sheffield United and Stoke City - sent off before half-time.

Harness picked up a yellow card on the ninth minute, and was substituted after 72 minutes for Cirstian Montano a Vale chased an elusive equaliser.

Ryan Delaney, on loan at League of Ireland table-toppers Cork City , has earned himself a call-up to Noel King's Republic of Ireland under-21 side ahead of their European Championships qualifier against Azerbaijan in Baku on next Tuesday (September 5).

Cork top the League of Ireland Premier Division by 17 points, with Delaney's performances - and on occasion, goals - at centre-back have caught the eye.

Delaney's performances have raised eyebrows, and recently he spoke about how he was hoping to break into the Brewers side he is yet to make a league appearance for.

"I do keep an eye on Burton, they’ve been doing quite well recently," Delaney said.

"The main thing for me is to keep improving and when I get back over it’s time to push on, and hopefully get a chance.

"The manager (Nigel Clough) has been in contact with John Caulfield and my agent (former Ireland international Stephen Hunt) and just keeping an eye."
