Burton Albion's on-loan Wolves striker Joe Mason reckons the Brewers' style of football and the way he likes to play are a match made in heaven - after notching Albion's equaliser in their 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.

And alongside his admiration for the way Albion play their football, Mason described opting to join Burton as "a no brainer" - and is already touting himself for a longer stay than the advertised January 2 on his loan contract with the Brewers.

Mason is a casualty of fourth-placed Wolves' success - and big summer spending - and joined the Brewers with the hope of playing games and scoring goals. He certainly couldn't have got off to a better start after Saturday's debut heroics.

The former Cardiff City man joined from Wolves on Wednesday, bolstering an Albion attack and providing alternatives to mainstays Marvin Sordell and Lucas Akins up front.

"Full throttle", as Mason calls it, is what the Pirelli Stadium has seen from Albion recently as their three-match unbeaten run, starting with last Friday night's 2-1 win over Birmingham City - at which the 26-year-old was present.

Mason certainly made that type of impression when he swivelled on the spot to notch that debut goal in in front of an adoring Pirelli crowd.

And now he can look forward to playing in a team that prides itself on being one of the fittest in the league - and the Pirelli has certainly seen that over the last month or so.

That was certainly evident when Mason was sitting in the stands observing that Birmingham win, with the Brewers completing a second-half turnaround with two goals in 20 minutes having gone into the break 1-0 down.

Albion did the same against Wednesday, racing out of the blocks with Marvin Sordell guilty of missing two good chances to put the Brewers ahead, with the hosts paying for that soon later when Gary Hooper's flicked finish put the Owls ahead against the run of play.

That required Albion to do what they do best, send Lloyd Dyer and Sean Scannell flying down the wings in search of an equaliser, and pile the pressure on their visitors - with Mason's goal coming on the 65th minute.

It's clear that Mason likes what he sees, and Brewers boss Nigel Clough and his back-room staff will surely reciprocate those feelings after his debut heroics on Saturday.

"Its full throttle all the way, the team give 100% every game", said Mason post-match.

"They like to play at a high tempo and that suits me down to the ground, and if Ican get little chances here and there I'll try and put them away.

"It was very easy - I wasn't getting a chance there to be honest, as soon as I heard the chance I could come here and play regular football, it was a no brainer.

"Yeah of course, replied Mason when asked if he would like to extend his stay beyond January.

"If things go well for me, obviously I've got to do my bit on the pitch and we'll see how things go down the line, but if I'm playing regularly I'd like to stay."
