Nigel Clough has made five changes for Burton Albion's match with Leeds United following their 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday last time out.

Deadline-day signings John Brayford and Jamie Allen go straight into the Albion side at Elland Road, with Clough opting for a four-man defence and five-man midfield behind lone striker Lucas Akins.

Brayford and the returning Stephen Warnock are at full-back, with Jake Buxton and Ben Turner at centre-back. Buxton has been handed the on-field armband for Burton this term.

Joe Mason makes his first start out on the right after his debut heroics against Wednesday, with Matty Lund returning from injury with Kyle McFadzean and Allen alongside him in central midfield, McFadzean likely to sit deepest of the three.

Sean Scannell is on the left-wing.

Akins spearheads Albion's attack, with options in abundance on the bench for Clough to choose from.

Connor Ripley, Tom Flanagan, Tom Naylor, Matt Palmer, Lloyd Dyer, Luke Varney and Marvin Sordell all start today's match on the bench, with Palmer and Sordell making way for Scannell and Allen.
