Burton Albion will begin their 2017/18 Championship campaign at home to Cardiff City - and they'll play two of the three relegated sides in the first fortnight.

The Brewers' full fixtures for the upcoming season have been released, and former Albion boss Neil Warnock will bring his Bluebirds to the Pirelli Stadium on the opening weekend, with the clash scheduled for August 5.

That game - which Nigel Clough's side won 2-0 last term - is followed by back-to-back away trips to Hull City (August 12) and Middlesbrough (August 15), with both sides coming down from the Premier League.

Birmingham City (August 19) and Sheffield Wednesday (August 26), both at home, round off a tough-looking opening month.

There are likely to be a few lengthy midweek trips for Albion fans as well, with Boro and Norwich City away (September 12) among the fixtures currently falling on Tuesday nights.
