Former Burton Albion striker Stuart Beavon has signed a new two-year deal with Coventry City.

The two-time Brewers player-of-the-season winner - who led the line superbly throughout Albion's back-to-back promotions into the Championship - joined the Sky Blues as part of the move that took Marvin Sordell the other way to the Pirelli Stadium.

Beavon was unable to prevent Coventry from relegation into League Two at the end of last term, but his new contract at the Ricoh Arena has seen the removal of a relegation release clause that previously existed in his original deal with the club.

And Sky Blues boss Mark Robins is glad to have the hard-working forward on board again.

"We are delighted that Stuart has signed a new contract," said Robins.

"The agreement sees him extend his stay with us for a further year, with the relegation clause subsequently removed.

"Stuart has impressed me since we have worked together, and he is a model professional with a tremendous attitude and can play a significant role moving forward."
