Burton Albion drew 2-2 with Matlock Town at Causeway Lane on Saturday, and you can find out how it all unfolded with our brand new live blog.

Nigel Clough's young Brewers side followed up last night's 3-0 loss to AFC Wimbledon with a draw against a physical and capable NPL Premier Division Gladiators team.

The pre-season matches are coming thick and fast, with matches against Rocester, West Bromwich Albion, Arnold Town, Shrewsbury Town and Leicester City still to come.

Clough was pleased with the test his players were given at Kingsmeadow on Friday - and he will be pleased that a much-changed Albion XI get a similar challenge against Matlock today.

Five down, five to go

Another pre-season friendly bites the dust for Burton Albion. They still have Rocester, West Brom, Arnold Town, Shrewsbury Town and Leicester City to come, but Nigel Clough and his management team will be learning plenty about their squad with every passing outing.

Next stop, Rocester on Monday evening...

The youngster bagged the opener early doors and played the full 90 minutes.

I think we did all right (with that) - I got a few kicks but I’m used to it now.

FULL-TIME

It’s finished 2-2 here at Causeway Lane - four goals in one half and none in the second-half had us all on the edge of our seats to begin with, but as the game petered out and fitness levels started to show, the game lost its edge it showed in the first period.
