Burton Albion drew 2-2 with Matlock Town at Causeway Lane on Saturday, and you can find out how it all unfolded with our brand new live blog.

Nigel Clough's young Brewers side followed up last night's 3-0 loss to AFC Wimbledon with a draw against a physical and capable NPL Premier Division Gladiators team.

The pre-season matches are coming thick and fast, with matches against Rocester, West Bromwich Albion, Arnold Town, Shrewsbury Town and Leicester City still to come.

Clough was pleased with the test his players were given at Kingsmeadow on Friday - and he will be pleased that a much-changed Albion XI get a similar challenge against Matlock today.

Joe Sbarra on the physical side of the game

He took a couple of knocks today - but Sbarra isn’t letting that affect him.

The youngster bagged the opener early doors and played the full 90 minutes.

I think we did all right (with that) - I got a few kicks but I’m used to it now.

Marcus Dinanga showed glimpses, and Joe Sbarra was excellent, but what did Joshua Murray make of it? Find out shortly...

Similar sentiment echoed on the blog, great first-half, second never really got going

FULL-TIME

It’s finished 2-2 here at Causeway Lane - four goals in one half and none in the second-half had us all on the edge of our seats to begin with, but as the game petered out and fitness levels started to show, the game lost its edge it showed in the first period.

Luke Tandy comes on for Ben Fox.

87: Matlock chance

Joe Doyle gets in behind the Brewers defence and blasts the first chance Matlock have had in a long time over the bar.

75: Matlock trialist makes way

To a standing ovation nonetheless, after a good performance from all the trialists today.

73: Brewers sub

Brewers swap ‘keepers, with Harry Campbell making way.

71: Here's my colleague Josh Muray's take on that Dinanga party piece

69: Lovely piece of skill from Dinanga

He evaded two Matlock defenders with a flick over their heads, but loses the ball and is penalized in his efforts to try and win it back.

68: Trialist double act at it again for Matlock

A ball from the right comes across and a Matlock man heads it over. Let off for Albion.

66: McCrory's cross is blocked

Matty Palmer pings a precise ball over to McCrory on the left flank, but his first-time cross is blocked and turned away by a Matlock man...

63: It's all a bit sloppy now

Both teams aren’t creating much, with both sides conceding possession far too easily...

61: Palmer's free-kick is too long

Palmer angles another free-kick towards goal, but his effort has far too much on it and sails out for a goal-kick.

58: Matlock shot saved

Matlock’s trialist has a shot from inside the box and it’s saved well by Campbell, while Fenton did his best to block the effort.

57: Palmer's free-kick is saved

Palmer tries to curl a free-kick from 30 yards towards the top-corner, but it is well gathered by Barnes.

Matlock trialist skews a shot wide

The Gladiators’ number 17, subbed on at half-time, lashes his shot wide from outside the box.

52: Matlock trialist goes down under pressure in the box

But his claims are waived away...

51: Dinanga forces another save from Barnes

His shot is rifled towards the Matlock goal after he set himself up, but it’s straight at Barnes who parries it away...

49: Fox does well to play Cotterill in

But Cotterill can’t find the run of Fox and skews his ball into the arms of the Matlock ‘keeper.

And we've had a few Matlock changes

They’ve got a rather large bench and some of their players are given a chance to impress this second-half...
