Burton Albion head to the Don Amott Arena tomorrow night in their second pre-season friendly of a busy schedule.

Fresh off the back of a professional and comprehensive performance on Wednesday night against Kidsgrove Athletic, the Brewers will head to Sports hoping to continue in the same vein.

That 5-0 win of a couple of nights ago against Kidsgrove will send Albion into pre-season full of confidence, not least for the likes of Matty Lund, who notched his first goal on his Brewers debut.

Albion played Sports last summer, in the final pre-season friendly of the summer before they kicked-off their debut Championship campaign and the hosts Mickleover ran out 1-0 winners over a young Brewers side, courtesy of a second-half Troy Minot effort.

Mickleover will provide a stern test, no doubt, with a number of ex-professionals in their ranks, including the likes of former Republic of Ireland striker Clinton Morrison and former Derby County defender Pablo Mills.

It is also worth noting that travelling Brewers might recognise the Sports manager, John McGrath. The former Aston Villa man made over 200 appearances for Albion over a six-year spell between 2007-2013, and will welcome his former club and manager Nigel Clough on Friday night.

Sports finished 16th in the first-tier of the Northern Premier League last term, plying their trade at step seven of the English football league pyramid.
