Aston Villa are looking to make an audacious swoop for Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere, according to the Daily Star.

Having already signed former Chelsea man John Terry over the summer, Villa - who continued their winless start to the new campaign with a 2-1 loss at Reading last night - are now looking to bolster their midfield with the signing of Wilshere.

Arsenal are reportedly expected to allow the 25-year-old England international to move on, with his contract with the Gunners due to expire in less than 12 months.

Liverpool winger Sheyi Ojo is having a medical at Fulham ahead of a season-long loan move, according to Sky Sports.

The Cottagers have managed to fend off interest from a host off fellow Championship clubs - including the likes of Derby County and Middlesbrough - to the signature of the former Milton Keynes Dons man.

Ojo is out of favour with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, and will help soften the blow of long-term absentee Lucas Piazon - who suffered a broken leg in last night's 0-0 draw with Leeds United.

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder wants to get new faces into Bramall Lane after losing one of his summer arrivals to injury last night.

Richard Stearman - who joined the Blades from Fulham earlier this summer - limped off with a hamstring issue during the 2-0 defeat to Cardiff City.

"I’ve spoken about the fact we could do with someone else at the back and also probably in midfield," Wilder told the Sheffield Star.

"The basis for us to compete and do well at this level is there. We just need to get better in a few areas."
