Born in Madrid, Saiz came through the ranks at Real Madrid and made appearances for both Real's B and C sides, but never made the breakthrough to the first team.

The forward, who becomes Leeds' eight signing of the summer, helped Huesca to the play-offs - notching 12 goals and eight assists in the process.

Boro look to have snapped up Denmark international Braithwaite, who has made 16 appearances for his national team.

Braithwaite scored 12 goals in 37 games for the Ligue 1 last season, and has already visited Boro's training ground at Rockcliffe Park to complete the formalities of the move.

Should the move be completed, he will become Boro's third signing of the summer, following the moves of Jonny Howson and Cyrus Christie to the Riverside Stadium.

Birmingham City manager Harry Redknapp is planning a move for former Chelsea and England left-back Ashley Cole, according to the Bleacher Report .

The United States-based media outlet has suggested that discussions about how the Blues should move forward next term included a mention of the possible signing of Cole.

City's board is reported backing Redknapp financially and after missing out on one former Chelsea defender in John Terry, the Blues boss could make an ambitious move for the former Arsenal man.

Cole is currently under contract with Los Angeles Galaxy and has appeared 14 times in the MLS this season.

Cardiff City have signed Bristol City midfielder Lee Tomlin for an undisclosed fee, with the former Boro man signing a three-year deal at the Cardiff City Stadium.

The 28-year-old becomes Cardiff boss Neil Warnock's seventh signing of the summer, and Warnock said he was 'over-the-moon' to join the Welsh side.
