A 25-YEAR-OLD man has been jailed for six weeks after failing to comply with probation.

Lloyd Brown, of Moseley Street, Burton, appeared at Burton Magistrates’ Court on January 3 to admit a charge of theft and also breaking a bail condition.

On November 4, last year, he stole a blue ladies’ bicycle, in Burton, worth £40 from Nana Agyeman.

For this he was bailed to later appear at court with a condition that he comply with probation in producing a pre sentence report. However, the court heard that on the same day as his court appearance he was arrested for breaking a bail condition – namely to co-operate with probation.

Instead, magistrates sentenced him to six weeks in prison.
