As British as fish and chips and the Queen’s corgis, everybody’s favourite pub restaurant Wetherspoon's is a true national staple - but could you get in trouble for what you wear?

Famed for their cheap pitchers of fruity cocktails and daily discounted menus ranging from Indian to chicken, but did you know that there is a strict dress code that needs sticking to if you want to get your hands on a ‘Woo-woo’ and a chicken burger.

If you’re trying to get into The Lord Burton, in Burton, or the Sir Nigel Gresley, in Swadlincote, then there are a couple of rules you must stick to when it comes to clothing that is actually pretty obvious, we hope.

According to Wetherspoons: “Customers are requested to remain fully clothed throughout their visit. Including wearing shoes.”

And a spokesman from the Sir Nigel Gresley, mirrored this sentiment claiming that they don’t impose a set dress code, as long as you’re wearing something!

They said: “You just have to be wearing clothes; you can’t be coming in bare chested or anything like that.”

Well there you have it – wear your favourite River Island shirt and keep your Converse firmly on your feet and you should be just fine to have a lovely evening down the pub.
