A popular Walton music festival has made its fastest selling launch ever after 2,000 early bird tickets were snapped up in under three minutes of going on sale.

Bearded Theory, which is due to take place at Catton Hall between May 24 and May 27, is proving more popular than ever as more than 5,000 tickets have been sold since they went on sale on Saturday, September 9.

The early-bird tickets were made available to the mailing list subscribers and past attendees, priced at £100 each.

No acts have been announced yet for the 2018 festival but a representative for Beaded Theory told us that the acts will be revealed as they get them. The representative also said that they expect that the first acts will be released before Christmas.

Bearded Theory's Spring Gathering is one of the best family friendly festivals in the country with this year's event featuring headliners Skunk Anansie, Slaves, Madness and Seasick Steve.

The festival has some new additions in 2018, including a 600-seater circus that will hold four free shows per day. Day shows will be family friendly but, as the hour grows later, the shows will take on a more adult theme.

Full price weekend tickets are £115 for adults aged 16 and above, £55 for children aged 12 to 15, and £28 for children from six to 11. Children under six go free.
