Hot air balloon enthusiasts from across Burton and Swadlincote are celebrating helping set a new world record. They set the record while at the Chambley World Balloon Festival in France.

Members of the Nottingham and Derby Hot Air Balloon Club, which covered the Burton and Swadlincote area, launched 456 balloons in less than an hour, easily surpassing the previous record of 433.

The nine-day festival takes place in France every two years, and attracts more than 400,000 spectators and 3,000 pilots and crew from across the world.
