People looking for a little treat or to pick up a unique gift for a loved one are being invited to a sale at the Burton's hospital.

A jewellery sale is set to be held from 10am until 3pm on Wednesday, September 27 at Burton's Queen's Hospital, which is situated in Belvedere Road.

The event, which has been organised by the Burton Hospitals League of Friends, will include a wide selection of costume jewellery as well as necklaces, bracelets and watches.

A spokesman for the event said: "Come along and see the bargains in the foyer of the hospital."

The league is run by a small group of volunteers who give their time and energy for free to the hospital and purchase a wide variety of things, such as fresh flowers for the chapel and help desk, televisions, emergency toiletry packs and Christmas decorations, as well as larger and more expensive pieces of medical equipment.

Volunteers for the charity have previously paid for the conversion of a store room into a new wet room, an ultrasound diagnostic machine and specialist chairs for patients who have had a stroke.
