The countdown is on to a popular musical making its debut in Burton this month. Based on the film of the same name, the musical Made in Dagenham, performed by The Mellow Dramatics, will be taking to the Brewhouse Arts Centre stage, to tell the real life story of the 1968 sewing machinists strike at the Ford factory, in Dagenham.

The leader of the strike, Rita, encourages the women to walk out after they are re-classified as unskilled workers, while the men of business see their wages increase, the women all join together to fight for their lives.

Rita gives a rousing speech at the trade union conference but what is the outcome? Will the women get the equal pay they have fought so hard for?

The energetic, funny and based on real-life events show will perform at Burton's Brewhouse Arts Centre , in Union Street, from Tuesday, September 12 until Saturday, September 16 at 7.30pm each evening with a matinee show on Saturday at 2.30pm.
