A charitable couple have thanked all those who attended the Stretton tea party to raise money for the Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity.

Carol and Mick McHarg helped to organise the event held at the Priory Centre, in Stretton on Saturday, August 5.

Tea and coffee were served, along with cakes and a tombola, which in all raised £560 for the children's cause.

Now, Carol McHarg has thanked all of those who came to the event and donated money to the charity.

Mrs McHarg said: "I would just like to thank everybody for their help and generosity on the day. It was a very good turnout and is the reason why we like doing this event every year."

Guests on the day included Councillor Simon Gaskin, the Mayor of East Staffordshire and his wife, along with residents from across the area.

The Rainbow Trust looks to support families who have children up to the age of 18 with life threatening or terminal illnesses and need specialist support and the money raised will go towards this.
