Calling all thrill seekers - one of the world's tallest inflatable water slides is heading to Donington Park later this year as part of the 'Gung-Ho!' five kilometre run.

Stood at 72ft tall and 200ft long the slide, aptly named the 'Thriller', will make its debut at Donington Park, near to East Midlands airport on Saturday, September 23.

Gung Ho! Is a five kilometre challenge, where competitors take on 10 inflatable obstacles and was first set up in 2014. The event now travels around the country including Southampton, Dorset and Norwich this year and will feature in the East Midlands for the very first time.

Course creator, Alex Winters explained that he first thought of the idea of 'Gung Ho!' while watching Ninja Warrior on TV and has lauded the 'Thriller' ride as one of his favourites.

Alex said: "The Thriller is our most popular obstacle, and always gets rave reviews from runners. It has been part of the obstacle line up since we started Gung-Ho! in 2014, but this year we've made a few changes to make it even better.

"We went to Manchester last year and it was raining hard, but that only served to make the Thriller even faster and more fun for people taking part. That's why we have added water to it for 2017, and the results have been amazing."

As well as the five-storey Thriller, participants can take on obstacles including an inflatable climbing wall, a giant ball pit, a labyrinth and a gauntlet.

Runners in the event must be at least 4ft tall, and will receive a free bib with their unique race number, Gung-Ho! t-shirt and headband and anyone can go along to watch and support.

For those wanting to sign up, prices will be increasing right up until the event, so act quick. The early bird tickets are still on sale until Monday, June 19 for £31 with prices rising until the day of the event at £60.
