Employers looking to shine a light on their workforce are being urged to put their best of the best staff forward for a Burton Mail Business Award.

Despite only days remaining until the awards deadline, there is still time for bosses to put hard working members of staff in the spotlight.

Both Employee of the Year or Young Employee of the Year have produced amazing winners over the last seven years and have helped to highlight staff that are dedicated and passionate.

Awards director Dave Bryon said: "These two award categories are a great chance for bosses to reward that one worker who always goes the extra mile.

"Have you got someone who excels at their job and is at the top of their game? If so get in touch and make sure they get the recognition they deserve."

Staff will also play a key part in another one of the hardest fought categories - Employer of the Year

This gong will be handed to a business which has used its human resources successfully and all working practices, from recruitment to work-life balance, will be taken into consideration.

Mr Bryon said: "This award is always popular and is a great way for a firm to be recognised for the way they look after their staff and provide a great place for them to work."

The eighth Burton Mail Business Awards will see 11 different gongs up for grabs, including the prestigious Business of the Year title.

The winners will be announced at a glittering gala awards ceremony on Thursday, October 19, which will again be held at Burton Albion's Pirelli Stadium. Firms have until Friday, September 8 to enter and can enter as many categories as they wish.

Burton Mail editor Emma Turton said: "These three categories are always so popular as it allows firms to celebrate the great work of staff.

"We all have that one employee who stands out from the crowd – now this is the way that you can really shine a light on what they do and give them the reward they need.

"But hurry as there are only days left until the deadline closes and the shortlist for this year’s Burton Mail Business Awards is drawn up and debated."
