Commuters should expect long delays after a lorry and a car collided in Derby.
Emergency services descended on the A38 southbound, between Kingsway roundabout and the A516, after reports of an incident involving a vehicle and a lorry.
We understand the lorry driver is being cut free from his cab.
Fire crews are currently at the scene and are urging motorists to avoid the area. Part of the A38 southbound is completely shut.

One lane reopened following crash

Heavy traffic on A61 following two-vehicle smash
According to traffic information network Inrix, traffic is building on Alfreton Road (A61) as motorists use alternative routes.
No time given for road reopening, according to police
A spokesperson for Derbyshire Police said both vehicles will need to be recovered following the smash.
He said: “We were called at 8am to reports that a Mercedes HGV and an Audi had been in collision on the A38 southbound, between Kingsway and the Mickleover slip road.
“The road is currently closed southbound from the Kingsway roundabout to the A516. It is not known currently how long the road will be closed, and both vehicles will need to be recovered.”
Lorry driver cut free
According to our reporter, who is live at the scene, the driver of the lorry has now been cut free.
Two ambulance crews are still working at the scene
A spokeswoman for East Midlands Ambulance Service said two crews were sent to the scene following the crash this morning.
She said: “We received a call at 7.59am on June 18 to the A38 southbound, near Kingsway island. The caller reported that there had been a road traffic collision between a lorry and a car. We sent a paramedic in an ambulance car and a crewed ambulance, and are currently on scene.”
