Customers trapped in Branston Golf and County Club car park as entrance blocked by travellers

The travellers camping in Branston Golf and County Club have blocked off the entrance in refusal to leave the site - leaving over a dozen cars trapped in the car park.

Police are aware of the situation and are currently travelling to the scene.

Accident on A38 causing congestion

There is queuing traffic on the A38 southbound due to an accident involving two cars.

There is congestion after Wood End Lane at the Fradley Park turn off to the A513 at the Alrewas/Tamworth turn off.

Travel time is around 20 minutes - the cars are awaiting recovery.

These pictures have been sent in by Cruffill Duffill showing the scene at the Co-op in Kings Bromley this morning. It appears that a digger has gone in to the side of the building, which has caused delays for drivers using the road. However, traffic restrictions have now been removed and it has been reported that police have left the scene.

Emergency roadworks close Borough Road, Burton

Borough Road is currently closed towards Burton due to emergency roadworks, bus firm Midland Classic has confirmed. Buses running towards the town centre are diverted via Wellington Road and Moor Street and unable to serve the railway station and the Devonshire Arms. Services running from the town centre are not affected
