A convict with a tattoo bearing his own name is on the run after fleeing from an open prison. Sean Maher, 26, is serving a 16-year-sentence for conspiracy to commit robbery and possession of an imitation firearm with intent to commit an offence.

Man arrested as Burton bar evacuated over 'tear gas' incident

A popular Burton nightclub was evacuated after a substance thought to be tear gas was allegedly let off inside.

Customers were forced to leave The Locomotive, in Station Street, Burton, after it was alleged a man had released CS gas.
Staffordshire Police confirmed it was called to reports of disorder at the bar at around 10.20pm on Sunday, November 12.

A 26-year-old man is due to appear before magistrates this morning charged with assaulting a woman in Swadlincote.

Derbyshire police said Kieron McAllister, of Salisbury Drive, Midway, will appear before Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court today, Monday, November 13, charged with assaulting a 30-year-old woman in The Delph between midnight and 12.20am on Saturday, November 11.
