Burton A&E relocates for FOUR MONTHS as part of £1.2m revamp

Burton’s accident and emergency department is to close for major construction work - triggering a warning for the public to be patient throughout the busy winter period.

Patients have been reassured that no services will be lost as the unit will relocate to a neighbouring ward, until the refurbishment is complete in March next year.

Major Woodville road remains closed after police incident

High Street in Woodville has been closed for three hours following a serious collision which involved a pedestrian and a vehicle. A spokesman for the police said the road is likely to remain closed for the foreseeable future. Diversions are in place.

Accident causing delays near Ashby

An accident on the A42 southbound between J12 B5006 Measham Road (Measham / Ashby) and M42 J11 for Burton is causing problems this evening. There is currently queuing traffic after one lane was closed, affecting traffic between Ashby and Appleby Magna.

Air ambulance called as Woodville road closes following collision between van and a pedestrian

A pedestrian has been involved in a collision with a van. The air ambulance has been called to an incident Woodville which has seen the road closed off.

The incident happened in High Street, close to the junction with Brunt Lane and involved male pedestrian.

Delays near East Midlands Airport

There are delays on the A453 northbound.

A broken down lorry has blocked one lane and is causing queuing traffic.

The incident took place between the M1 at junctions 23a, A42 and M1 junction 24, A6 and A50 for Kegworth and East Midlands Airport

Lane one of four is blocked.
