A man was taken to hospital following an accident on the A50 last night.
A stretch of the westbound carriageway was closed at around 7.50pm between the A514 for Swarkestone and Toyota Island after reports of a multi-vehicle accident.
Emergency services descended to the scene of the incident, which involved one lorry and three cars, and one man was taken to hospital.
Traffic and travel information website Inrix reported the road was blocked and traffic was building as both lanes of the carriageway .
The stretch re-opened shortly after 10pm after being closed for more than two hours.
