Commuters travelling along the A38 northbound in South Derbyshire are being advised to seek alternative routes following an accident involving a car and a lorry which is holding up traffic.
The A38, at Mickleover, is blocked on the northbound carriageway, around the A516, but traffic is now backed up past the Toyota island, at Burnaston.
The accident involves a car and a lorry, the latter of which is blocking the road. There are reports of heavy traffic to Findern, according to traffic and travel information website Inrix.
Elsewhere on the roads traffic is slow in both directions on the A444 Burton Road, Overseal, due to continuing roadworks around the Woodville Road and Lullington Road crossroads.
An accident involving a motorcycle is also being reported in Lichfield Street, Rugeley and traffic is partially blocked in both directions.
