Top companies on the look out for enthusiastic job seekers have signed up to take part in Burton and Uttoxeter's next jobs fair.

Hundreds of roles are up for grabs at the annual event, which is organised by the town's MP Andrew Griffiths. The annual jobs fair and has enjoyed huge success in the past, with dozens of people finding work as a result of visiting the event.

Firm which will be attending the event include Boots and the Hilton hotel based at St George's Park in Needwood.

Back for a seventh year, at the Pirelli Stadium on Friday, September 29, the event sees the MP work in conjunction with Burton Jobcentre Plus and Burton and District Chamber of Commerce to help unemployed people in the area find work.

Tory MP Mr Griffiths said: "I am delighted to announce that Burton and Uttoxeter Jobs Fair is back. Employment is at a record high at the moment, but there are still some people looking for work and I have heard from many employers in the area who are desperate to recruit some brilliant new staff.

"The fair has proven in the past to have been an excellent opportunity to connect employers and people looking for work, and this year’s jobs fair is shaping up to be one of the biggest we have seen.

"We have already had some fantastic companies such as the Hilton hotel and Boots sign up, with many more still to be announced. And with jobs as varied as finance director, carer, engineer and customer service assistant on offer on the day, there will truly be something for everyone."

The main sponsor of this year's fair will again be East Staffordshire's biggest employer, digger firm JCB, with pub company Punch Taverns and Pirelli Tyres UK also providing co-sponsorship.

People will also have the chance to find out about employment training to help them better prepare for interviews. There will also be a series of seminars co-ordinated by Burton and South Derbyshire College, will help people wanting to create a CV that will stand out. There will also be help on how to fill out a job application.

Advice for people wanting to set up there own firms will also be on offer.
