Can you think of anything more wonderful than a load of happy pooches running around your workplace?

If the answer is yes, then you're in luck - Friday is Bring Your Dog to Work Day.

Glasgow Live reported that the day raises cash for a rehoming charity and an organisation in East Asia saving cats and dogs from the food industry, so there are plenty of good reasons to take part in the day.

If your boss isn't entirely won over by that argument, you could also tell them that petting furry animals does no end of good for people's general wellbeing.

Commenting on last year’s event, Jo Amit, founder of dog grooming products company HOWND, said: “Many scientific studies have concluded that the presence of pets can substantially reduce a person’s stress level in the workplace.

“Increased job satisfaction, team cooperation and morale have all been reported in employees that spend the workday with their pets.

“If you own or run a business, you can participate by making an online donation to become a business sponsor.

“In return for a minimum donation of £50, your company’s logo and website link will be displayed on our website homepage.

"All the money raised will be split equally between All Dogs Matter and Animals Asia.”

Dogs will be heading into offices and workplaces on Friday

You can also donate if you don’t have a dog and just want to help - and if you do and you contribute £2 online then you’ll get a picture of your dog published on the Dog With a Job wall of fame.
