Burton Albion Community Trust is looking for volunteers to work in schools in Ghana, West Africa through its partnership with the charity African Adventures.

Volunteers will spend 10 nights, starting from Saturday, July 28, 2018, working in schools in Woe, the Volta region of Ghana and a meeting for prospective volunteers will take place tonight, Monday, September 18.

Community projects in developing areas of Africa are benefited by the African Adventures group and volunteers on the trip will be able to choose from a range of jobs such as teaching in schools and working with underprivileged children to football and multi-school training.

The opportunity is open to volunteers of all ages but under 16s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Lee Milligan, events and partnerships officer at Burton Albion Community Trust, said: "This will be the fourth year Burton Albion Community Trust has endeavoured to send a group of volunteers from the community out to Ghana for a life changing experience.

"We have had fantastic support from our local business and community leaders and last year proved to be a massive success and the trust are very proud of the work and effort of all involved.

"The children that you meet, the locals you encounter and the community workers you assist are all truly fantastic people. These trips really do make a difference."

All those interested, a 2018 African Adventures presentation will be held this evening, Monday, September 18, at the Pirelli Stadium, beginning at 6pm.
